[edit] Darling's right ear

Perhaps we could make mention of his 'smaller' ear, perhaps it's deformed (see talk: Tim McInnerny, concerning 'ear' as well). The ear difference is noticable on this pages photo. GoodDay 21:45, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Can anyone confirm this paragraph from the article Coldstream Guards?

The grouping of buttons on the tunic is a common way to distinguish between the regiments of Foot Guards. Coldstream buttons are arranged in pairs, and a star of the garter is marked on their brassware. Captain Darling from the TV comedy Blackadder was a Coldstreamer; this can be recognized from his uniform.

I can confirm (from the DVD) that Darling's buttons are arranged in pairs. However, his hat doesn't sport the cap star as shown at the top of the Coldstream Guards article, but has a crown with lion on top instead. Don't know if that disqualifies him... Miremare 03:49, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
