A New Jersey native and graduate of Bishop George Ahr High School (in Edison, NJ), he tossed a no-hitter against Connecticut on March 26, 2005.[1] He was selected by the Mets in the second round (62nd overall) of the 2006 amateur draft out of Villanova University. In 2007, he went 11-10 with a 3.32 ERA for the Binghamton Mets and was selected to the All-Star Futures Game. In August 2007, he was promoted to the New Orleans Zephyrs of the Pacific Coast League. In two starts Kevin Mulvey got two wins without an earned run.[2]
On February 2, 2008, the Mets traded him, along with Philip Humber, Carlos Gómez, and Deolis Guerra to the Minnesota Twins for Johan Santana. He is currently pitching for the Rochester Red Wings.
