[edit] Bias

I have removed the following text: "This association with the Australian Labor Party has often renewed speculation of left-wing bias and his fiery interviews with Liberal Party Cabinet Ministers." Can anyone find a citation of this left-wing bias speculation? Also, O'Brien's fiery interviews have not just been with Liberals. Doesn't anyone else remember him famously accusing (then PM) Keating of having a "credibility problem"? To which Keating replied "I don't have a credibility problem, you have an information problem." Anyway, until someone can find a few good quality citations, I'm removing it because accusing a journalist of politicial bias is one of the most serious things you can do. Not to mention the biffo with Latham. He went pretty damn hard on him. DarkSideOfTheSpoon 00:01, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Why not look at http://www.abc.net.au/corp/pubs/media/s1485711.htm where the speculation re bias is spelled out pretty clearly as cabinet ministers have actually made complaints. Of course Mr. O'Brian was not found to have been been biased in his conduct here, but this is proof of there being a view that he is so. Anyone who saw his love in with Latham on the night prior to the election will understand the reasons for the complaints.

[edit] Move?

I think this page should be moved to Kerry O'Brien (journalist) or similar. Then have a disambig page pointing to the two Kerry's. ~AFA pony. 16:39, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Umm... Seems for some strange reason that Kerry O'Brien (journalist) actually goes to plain old Kerry O'Brien. That is fucked up...~AFA pony. 16:49, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Standing for Senate

I have found no evidence O'Brien is standing for senate. Also the ABC's editorial policy is that candidates can only appear as candidates and not for other reasons, (which is why Dr. Karl has temporarily stopped appearing on ABC radio). Kerry is still hosting the 7:30 report, so i don't think he's standing for senate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.216.30.249 (talk) 11:34, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Birth Date

If true, O'brien is in extraordinarily good shape for a 62 year old. I elliot 11:00, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Irish-Australian

Says he was born in Brisbane. Does he actually have Irish citizenship or just an O' in his name? I'm going to remove it until someone comes up with a reference. Nick 01:10, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
