Kerosene is the title of a song released in late 2005 by American country music artist Miranda Lambert. The third single and title track to her 2005 album Kerosene, the song reached #15 on the Hot Country Songs charts, becoming Lambert's first Top 20 country hit.
Although Lambert wrote the song herself, she gave co-writer's credit to alt-country singer Steve Earle, as she felt that the song had a similar melody to his "I Feel Alright".[1]
In the song's music video, Miranda carries a tin of kerosene, letting it spill out leaving a trail as she walks through the countryside singing. After she finds her boyfriend cheating on her in a bed in the middle of a road, she sets fire to the trail. The flame burns all the way to her boyfriend's house and sets fire to it.
