Sorry that you would want to delete this but it's my first entry and I'm still a little shaky with entries.
This is going to be a page that will be continually added on as this specific player is just beginning his career and I just made this entry.
- I'm no expert on Canadian Hockey, but if this person is in a professional league, he has met the criteria for notability as I understand it. I think it should be kept. -Everyguy 01:10, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hiya :-) I'm truly appreciative that you want to contribute an article to this person on Wikipedia, and that this person may be a fantastic hockey player. However, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a reference or listing of all human beings on the planet that may have gained some minor fame. Articles posted must meet guidelines of notability. It should also be noted that articles cannot be submitted based on the speculative future of the person the article is written about.
- Once an article has significant, referenced, factual information about a person who is of some significant notoriety, then please start an article about them. An article like this is, and remains to be (despite the {{holdon}} tag) acceptable for speedy deletion. Mentality 01:14, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, I would like to add that should a person other than the original editor wish to remove the speedy tag deletion, than please do so, and it will be forwarded to the normal articles for deletion process. I would also like to reinforce however that I think this article meets the criteria of speedy deletion, if not through {{db-bio}} then {{db-nocontext}}. Not that this means I do not hope the article can be improved to an acceptable standard very quickly :-) Mentality 01:19, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- I have removed the speedy deletion tag; being a first round draft pick of a professional hockey league is an assertion of notability, and as such CSD A7 does not apply. As for context, there is sufficient information presented to expand the article, and the references provided are adequate at the moment for a stub level article. Cleanup is not a valid criterion for deletion. --Kinu t/c 01:29, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
By the way I'm not just trying to cite every living human, this individual has had an excellent minor career and is now a professional hockey player, and not just that but a first round draft choice which is a gesture towards his achievements.
