Jealous?

Umm. This page reads like a brochure, or a feature out of a "things to do this weekend" section of a newspaper rather than as an encyclopedia entry... 209.12.241.69 22:36, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Who do you believe should be honored?
I cannot believe Mary Tyler Moore isn't included. The guidelines do not indicate if the person has to be alive or not. I guess they have to be alive or Elvis would have been honored. What about Merv Griffin (sorry, he died), Gore Vidal, Phil Donahue, Bea Arthur, Andy Griffith, Carole King, Jim Nabors, Cher, Barry Manilow, Jean Stapleton, Rob Reiner, Norman Lear, Dick Van Dyke, Ron Howard, Bette Midler, James Garner, Hal Holbrook, Dixie Carter, Roseanne, Stiller & Meara, Geraldo Rivera, Sally Field, Burt Reynolds, William Shatner, Liza Minnelli, Little Richard, Pat Boone, Barbara Walters, Tom Brokaw, Roger Ebert, Johnny Mathis, Kasey Kasem, William Daniels, Lionel Richie, Mike Post, and, with apprehenison, the much overrated Oprah. Just my thoughts, who would you like to see honored? —The preceding Scott Kjeer comment was added by Greatdane813 03:09, 12 February 2007 (UTC) Greatdane813 (talk • contribs) 02:12, 12 February 2007 (UTC).
They do have to still be living. Funny that the previous comment mentioned Diana Ross, as she was just honored this past year. I'm told that prospective honorees also have to promise to be available for the weekend of the ceremony-- i.e., no awards will be presented in absentia. I heard rumors that Barbra Streisand has been offered the opportunity to be an honoree but she refuses to accept it from this president. Depending on the results of the presidential elections this November, maybe we'll see Babs honored in the near future... Stu21202 (talk) 23:30, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
