Kenny Smith (born September 8, 1977 in Meridian, Mississippi) is an American football defensive end who is currently under contract with the New England Patriots of the National Football League. Smith was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2001 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints. He signed with the Oakland Raiders for the 2005 season but was placed on injured reserve and was released on November 2, 2005. On March 7, 2007 he signed a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but was released on April 30, 2007. He then signed with the Patriots on June 8, 2007. He was released on August 22, 2007. He signed with the Patriots again on April 22, 2008.
