- Benjamin Kennicott, English churchman and Hebrew scholar, author of Vetus Testamentum hebraicum cum variis lectionibus (1776-1780) and two dissertations entitled The State of the Printed Hebrew Text of the Old Testament considered. Kennicott's widow, founded two Oxford scholarships for the study of Hebrew.
- Robert Kennicott (1835-1866), American naturalist, pioneer Alaska explorer, died whilst travelling up the Yukon River.
