Kenilworth School and Sports College is a secondary school based in Leyes Lane Kenilworth, Warwickshire, England. The school is split into two levels of education; Lower School (KS3) and Upper School (GCSE). The school has an average capacity of 1,500 and has a uniform consisting of black trousers, navy blue sweatshirt, royal blue polo shirt (Lower) or navy blue polo shirt (Upper). The newly appointed head of the school is now Mr Abbott. Dr Begbie was the head but retired in April 2008. There is also:

Lower School is for students in Key Stage 3 (Year 7, 8 and 9). The Building of Lower School accommodates Lower School students for 'registration' and break-times. The school also holds various subjects.

The Subjects taught in the Lower School buildings are;

  • Science (Biology),
  • Humanities (History, Geography, Religious Studies, Latin and Citizenship),
  • Languages (French, Spanish and German),
  • Technology (Resistant Materials, Textiles, Food and Graphics),
  • ICT, Business Studies.

Upper School is for students who are studying GCSE's (Year 10 and 11). The Building of Upper School accommodates Upper School students for 'registration' and break-times. The school also holds other various subjects.

The Subjects taught in the Upper School buildings are:

  • Mathematics,
  • English,
  • Science (Chemistry and Physics),
  • Expressive Arts (Art, Drama and Music)
  • Physical Education (Kit includes a white polo shirt of navy blue rugby shirt and navy blue shorts or tracksuits.
  • ICT and Business Studies.

Castle Sixth Form is part of Kenilworth School and Sports College. This Sixth Form is where students take A level education. Based in Rouncil Lane, Kenilworth students can take a wide range of subjects providing they have the correct GCSE's usually 5 A* to C- and at least C- or B in the required subject. Students sit AS Level in year 12 before moving on to A2 Level in year 13. After this students that have the correct grades can move on to university. There is no uniform in Castle sixth form but clothes must be sensible! The head of Castle Sixth form is Mr Curran. In 2008 Ofsted review Castle Sixth Form scored 1's and 2's making it one of the best Sixth forms in the midlands.

[edit] Pre Kenilowrth School

Kenilworth School and Sports College was two schools in the 60's. Abbey High (Lower School), Grammar School (Upper School) and Castle Sixth Form was Castle High. The uniform for Abbey High was a red blazer, grey trousers, white shirt and grey/red tie. Grammar school was a black blazer, grey trousers, white shirt and navy blue tie with a yellow stripe.
