Description

The banner on the wall says, Direct from Birdland New York City, Coming attactions: Sonny Stitt, Thelonious Monk, Wardell Grey, Kenny Dorham (pictured) other guests included Lee Morgan, Al Haig (who I am named after) and many more. Appearently Monk never showed up. However I did meet him once when I was about 7 years old at the Colonial Tavern.

The Bill Goddard Quartet - Metropole Hotel in Toronto Bill Goddard tenor Sax- Herbie Helbig piano- Bob Shilling Bass & Fred Webster drums. The good ole daze!
