The Keller Independent School District is a K-12 public school district based in Keller, Texas (USA). It serves more than 25,000 students and operated 31 schools in the 2006-07 school year. Its superintendent is James Veitenheimer, who is commonly referred to as "Dr. V", due to the common mispronunciation of his surname.
[edit] Demographics
The district covers 51 square miles in northern Tarrant County, including most of the city of Keller and much of the northern portion of Fort Worth. It also serves small parts of Colleyville, North Richland Hills, Southlake, Watauga, Roanoke, and Westlake. This is a fast-growing area, with about 2,800 new homes being built in the district every year, and enrollment is rising more than 2,000 students annually.[1] To keep up, the district has built 10 new schools since 2002, with two more planned.
