Former Franciscan abbey upon the Klosterberg (abbey hill) in the east of Kelkheim.
Kelkheim is a town in the Main-Taunus-Kreis district in Hesse, Germany. Situated in the Taunus mountains, Kelkheim is a popular place to hike, jog, and bike, noted for its attractive scenery. During the summer, swimming at the outdoor pool near the Eichendorff-Schule is a very popular activity. Kelkheim, whose bus and train system is held in high esteem, is situated approximately 10km west of Frankfurt. Wiesbaden, the main capital of Hesse, is about 25km from Kelkheim. Mainz, the main capital of Rhineland-Palatinate, is about 30 km away.
