From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Keith Lofstrom is an electrical engineer who specializes in mixed signal integrated circuit design. He has a BSEE and MSEE from University of California, Berkeley but is more widely known in the space community for his work on the Launch Loop [1]

One of his patents is for a way to read an individual digital ID for integrated circuits that arises from random atomic variations inherent in the silicon manufacturing process [2].

He also contributed the key idea of a variable speed acceleration loop to a 50 mile transfer station for Keith Henson's moving cable space elevator concept. (A 2000 tonne per day Space Elevator)
