[edit] linking dates

Hi, I noticed that on Davy O'Hare you unlinked the 2 March part of a date with a comment about horoscopes. In fact it's WP policy to link dates when a day is fully specified (ie number, month, year), so that if the person reading it has "preferences" set up, the date will be automatically formatted to the style they choose. So, although it looks a bit daft, a date like 2 March 1980 should be linked like that, although 2 March on its own wouldn't be linked, and links for single years like 1980 are made by some editors but not generally preferred. See WP:MOSNUM for more detail than you probably want! Welcome to Wikipedia - there's a lot to learn, but it's fun. PamD (talk) 08:36, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
