Kealin Ireland was a councillor for the Green Party in Dún Laoghaire in south Dublin in Ireland. In 2003, she was co-opted in place of Vincent MacDowell. She was elected in 2004 to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. and resigned in 2007, after the general election.
She is also a human resources consultant and was Ciaran Cuffe's campaign manager in the 2007 general election.
