The station is currently owned by Coast Broadcasting Company and features programing from ABC Radio and Jones Radio Network.[2]The AM station normally plays "The Music of Your Life", a syndicated radio broadcast playing music from the '30s, '40s and '50s. This is because a majority of the people living in the Florence area are retired.[citation needed]

The station went on the air as KGBU on 1983-11-28. on 1988-09-21, the station changed its call sign to the current KCST.[3]
