[edit] Brief ABC affiliation period

I went through back issues of the Waco Tribune-Herald today looking for dates. KCEN was listed as NBC in May 1984, but gradually transitioned to mostly ABC during June, and was almost completely ABC by July 1984, carrying only Days of Our Lives and The Tonight Show. Those last two shows were dropped December 1, 1984, in preparation for KXXV's sign-on on 3/22/85. Cablevision moved KXAS to the basic tier to provide NBC to Waco viewers in the period between 12/1/84 and KXXV's sign-on. I did not get a chance to go through the rest of 1985 to find the date when NBC moved back to KCEN. Next time I'm in Waco I will stop by the library again and look, unless someone there wants to undertake this task. Incidentally, I must have been mistaken in my memory that KCEN was primary ABC in the mid-70s. I couldn't find any reference in the Trib for this. -- Gridlock Joe (talk) 03:33, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
