INTRODUCTION
Kazan State Technical University (KSTU) was established in 1932. The history of the Technical University is closely related to the progress of Russian aeronautics. Fundamental education and profound scientific research are the distinguishing features of the university, which make it very attractive for a great number of young people. Until the recent time, it was well known as Kazan Aviation Institute. In 1973, the Institute was named after Andrey N.Tupolev, the prominent aircraft designer. In 1992, it got the status of the State Technical University. Last time, the Tupolev Kazan State Technical University was authorized by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation in 2002. KSTU belongs to the number of Russian universities that won reputation of reliable partner on the international scientific and educational market. We are proud of our history, we keep and increase own traditions, we have powerful scientific potential and high quality teaching staff. It allows us to be an enjoying partner in international educational and scientific association having own results of a high level.

More than 50 thousand graduates of our University work fruitfully in all regions of Russia and all over the world. Our University works to create a multilevel unremitting training system, offering wide range possibilities for further training and faculty development.

UNIVERSITY TODAY
Today the University is one of the leading Russian institutions in aircraft engineering, engine- and instrument-production, computer science and radio- and telecommunications engineering. KSTU is the largest technical university of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Volga region.

Kazan State Technical University teaches about 25,000 students on 65 majors in Engineering, Business and Humanitarian Sciences by the university faculty body of 1,800 persons, including 150 Full Professors & Doctor of Science degree holders, 600 Associate Professors & Ph.D. degree holders.

The University is housed in 7 perfectly equipped buildings. It has 6 student's dormitories, and a hostel. A sport complex includes 5 well-equipped indoor sports halls, ski- & water-stations. The University also has a sportive camp in the picturesque place on the Volga river, 40 km away from Kazan.
