[edit] Introduction
This term is very common to the residents of Trichy, aka, Tiruchirapalli. The bridge that connects Trichy mainland to the Srirangam island is referred to as the Kaveri palam.
The construction of this bridge was done in the recent past. This bridge came in as a replacement to the older damaged one. This place has become one of the best places of interests in the minds of Trichy people.
On any evening you can see a crowd which comprises people of all ages ,friends gathering together and enjoying their evening time, small kids eagerly looking into the Kaveri river bed, old people performing their daily duty(evening walk!!).
In recent times this "Kaveri Palam" has become one of the important places in Trichy.
