Kaupanger is a small township originating from a Viking age settlement. It is situated at the Sognefjord in the Sogndal municipality of Sogn og Fjordane county.

Kaupanger stave church (built 12th century) Kaupnager has in the recent years had an industrial advancement with the building of "Elkjøp" and "Bohus". With these stores the youth of Kaupanger has found themselves a new meeting spot.
