Katalepsis is a name I often use for online game forums (MMORPGs) and came across the word (and thus the historic and modern context) by reading Darwin's Blade by Dan Simmons. I was shocked to see that WikiPedia didn't have an entry on the word so I did the best I could under the circumstances (impromptu this morning and off the top of my head) to capture the essence of it for further exploration and discussion. I can be contacted at hawkeye_pierce2@yahoo.com and am a 33/m/NC resident that enjoys the stoic philosophers and also some good, modern fiction (like Dan Simmons books) as well as playing massively multi-player online games. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hawkeye pierce2 (talk • contribs)

[edit] Merging with Catalepsy?

The suggestion that this page be merged with Catalepsy sounds like a rubbish suggestion to me, since the philosophical term Katalepsis has a totally different meaning to the modern medical term Catalepsy. I suggest the mergeto template should be removed. Singinglemon 23:35, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Yes, you're right. I'm removing it. Wareh 13:59, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
