Katherine Connella

Katherine Connella (born December 12, 1958 in Dallas, Texas) is an American actress and writer.
The initial idea for the screenplay of Transamerica occurred in a conversation between screenwriter/director Duncan Tucker and Katherine Connella. While discussing male/female perceptions, Connella shocked Tucker (they had been sharing a house for about four months at the time) with the revelation that she was intersex and had been raised as a male.
