Katherine Cassavetes (June 24, 1906, in New York, New York - March 29, 1983, in Los Angeles, California) was an American actress of Greek origin. Her birth name was Katherine Demetre. She was the mother of actor-director John Cassavetes and grandmother of Nick Cassavetes, Zoe Cassavetes and Alexandra Cassavetes.
She appeared in three films written and directed by her son John including 'Minnie and Moskovitz' (1971)
