Kate Neiswender

Kate Neiswender became the first attorney to ever launch a legal challenge against a California County or City government under the California Hayden Act in Patricia Lock v. Kern County, California[1], bettering the lives of companion animals living in shelters throughout California.

In 2007, Ms. Neiswender also earned the State Bar of California Pro Bono Service Award for her work protecting the environment and the protection or companion animals.[2]
