UH-60 helicopter outside Morial Convention Center, New Orleans
New Orleans, September 5, 2005 - A helicopter prepares to land and evacuate individuals from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, one of two major pickup sites established in the downtown area. Once loaded, the helicopter will ferry the rescued people to the New Orleans Airport for medical treatment and then air transport to shelters and hospitals around the country as New Orleans continues to be evacuated.
