   Though this image is subject to copyright, its use is covered by the "fair use" laws because:
   # It is a historically significant photo of a famous individual. The subject, Kathleen Lonsdale, was the first woman elected to fellowship of the famous Royal Society (UK) and this photo was taken under the aegis of the Royal Society for its archives. The Royal Society was founded 1660 and didn't elect a female fellow until 1945.
   # It is of very much lower resolution than the original; it's only a thumbnail image (144 by 144 pixels).
