Karin Leitner is an international renowned flutist, touring worldwide as a soloist and with chambermusic ensembles. She has performed at International Festivals in Austria ( „Carinthian Summer“, Brucknerhaus Linz, Konzerthaus, Musikverein), France ( Int. Festival de Musique, Besancon), South Africa, Iran (Int. Fajdr-Festival of Music, National Concert Hall), Germany, Czech Republic (Hall of the Prague Spring Festival…), United States, Holland, Hungary (Szeged International Music Festival, …), Ireland (Blue Book Tour, Festival Music in Great Irish Houses, North Cork Music Festival), England (London Chamber Music Festival with the English String Quartet, Bath Assembly Hall), Wales, Poland, China (Int. Music Festival Harbin), Turkey (Ankara Festival…) Karin Leitner was invited as a soloist with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra Hradec Králové, Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Jonathan Sheffer (New York), repeatedly with the Vienna Mozart Orchestra in the Musikverein, Orchestre Symphonique de Besancon, Philharmonic Orchestra Hradec Kralove, Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, London Gala Orchestra, Capella Istropolitana Bratislava, Rousse Philharmonic Bulgaria and Lublin Philharmonic Poland.
She loves giving workshops, especially to underprivileged children around the world and was tutor in Austria, Ireland, Iran, Northern Ireland at the Cross Communication Project Music Workshop for Protestants and Catholics, in China and at Workshops in townships in Cape Town, South Africa for black children.
Since 2006 she also composes her own pieces and has written 20 new pieces for Flute & Harp & Stringorchestra, which have been recorded already and will be released soon.
