Any rumors regarding Karen Hughes for president in 2008? It's probably ridiculous but you never know.

[edit] POV

uh...this is all fairily non-POV. criticisms of hughes should be a in a separate section of the article and this should include any gaffes or percieved problems with her. this article should also discuss her current work, but that is not my main concern. the article needs to be written in a neutral manner and should explicitly discuss criticisms under a separate article section. --Ampersand 00:51, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Biased Passage

Under "2005 tour of the Middle East", I took out the following passage: "Hughes states that in response to a question from an unnamed Egyptian opposition political leader about why President Bush mentions God, she responded "that our Constitution references 'One nation under God.'"1 Hughes also pointed out that most U.S. Presidents have mentioned God in their public speeches. However, the phrase "under God" does not appear in the US Constitution. The phrase does appear in the current version of the Pledge of Allegiance, to which the words 'under God' were added in 1954."

This is clearly an insignificant event in her public life and is a biased criticism of her probably meant to show her as being "stupid".

[edit] too many links?

also does wikipedia have a standard on when other articles should be linked? there are way too many links in this article, which detract from its readibility. --Ampersand 00:54, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Organized into sections

I've organized the page into sections, and added some content to the section on her current job as Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy. Comments? MastCell 22:36, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Check for neutrality tag

This article seems to be biased - tendency to be a hack job on Hughes - e.g. out of context "SWAT team" quotation (Hughes was using the metaphor of SWAT Teams as in "Public Diplomacy SWAT teams" - a badly thought out/hasty metaphor but the quotation usage here makes her sound as she wants to use actual SWAT teams around the world. Also, the couple of minor "embarrassing" audience reaction quotes seem to have been weirdly inflated in importance - are these two quotes the only point of the 2005 Middle East Tour section? Totally blown out of proportion i.e. undue weight / POV—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.110.163.10 (talk) 23:05, 3 May 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Needs cleanup and content

Hughes is a very prominent member of the Bush white house. Sufficient content is available to make a much more thorough entry. As for the cleanup, the quotations are provided without context. Hagan jared 00:44, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Karen is an idiot

Karen is a stupid fucking idiot and that's a fact jack. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.12.231.167 (talk) 04:13, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Complete Failure

Karen after completely failing with Middle-Eastern relations is going to retreat to her home in Texas where she will die and be remembered for her stupidity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.12.231.167 (talk) 04:17, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bush Quote "Heckuva Job Karen"

As is customary with the Bush administration, Karen Hughes will receive the a Presidential Medal for completely failing at her job and making the world a more dangerous place to live (and coincedentally making world oil prices higher).

Is there a place in the article where we can mention this person is an idiot?
