[edit] Platinum Weird note (check your fiction)
A mockumentary has been made to go with the Platinum Weird album, and editors should be careful about mixing fact with fiction. I will list some anachronisms here for a later PW article (waiting until they release an album) as a reality check.
- (as of today) On the platinumweird.com main page, Erin Grace is shown holding a Polaroid Pronto OneStep camera in one of the "1974" pictures. That camera was produced beginning in 1977 for the 1978 season.
- The "lost 1974 interview" on various PW Web sites is with an adult Adam Curry, but he was 10 years old in 1974.
- One of the "lost 1974" tracks is with George Harrison, singing "This Guitar", but his voice is as it sounded in the 1990s. (this has since been pulled off the main PW page, too many people noticed this.)
More anachronisms will come, if and when I recall them.
- Billboard carries this article giving away the prank.
- blog entry (now deleted, Google cache) from Catherine Schwartz also giving away the game. 2006-06-22: a revised version has been posted with the mockumentary reference deleted.[1]
- production notes on the George Harrison track
- Stewart creates biopic for fictitious band, Yahoo News
This isn't some "shocking truth" that needs to be made prominent in related articles -- that's why I added it at the bottom -- but we shouldn't be misreprenting fiction as fact on Wikipedia.

- I've extended the story, because people really need to think twice. This is an organized attempt at misinformation and I have no intention of allowing DioGuardi and Stewart deceive people on this scale. KittenKlub 16:41, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
