Karradah

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Karradah (al Karradah) is a predominantly Shiite neighbourhood in East Baghdad, Iraq. It is located in south central Baghdad, on a small peninsula in the bend of the river Tigris.

A relative oasis consisting of mixed, middle-class and intellectual residents almost cut off from the rest of the city by a loop of the Tigris. The luxury riverside homes of Saddam Hussein's elite are now occupied by the leaders of the new order.
