Karopady is a small village in Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka, India.
Karopady is situated between Anekallu and Kanyana. Vijayadka, Pombattaje and Palige are some of the small places within Karopady.

Beedi Leave rolling is the major industry which can be seen in Karopady. JAGATHSHREE NAVODAYA SWA SAHAYA SANGHA FAMOUS YOUNGER GENERATION IN KAROPADY.They are done some fabulous work for the development of the village.

Agriculture is the main occupation of the people in Karopady. One can see beautiful paddy fields in through out Karopady. Areca nut, Coconut, Banana and Pepper are grown in large scale in Karopady.

One can see people speaking in various mixed languages in Karopady. Tulu, Kannada, Konkani are some of the commonly spoken languages in Karopady village. Here people give much importance to tulu language .Every year tulu drama happening in mittanadka jatra time on 4th day (nadubandi day).One of the cultural troup named VARAHI KALA SANGAMA Mittanadka performed different drama Like ,Nagabana ,Suryakanthi, Nagarapanchami,and local writer sathish shettys Yepa katvar thali? and forthcoming DHARMA NEMA??????

Karopady has many famous Temples, Churches and Mosques. Mittanadka Malaraya devasthana is one of the famous temples located in Karopady village, Aina a 5 day ritual is the most important function held in Mittanadka, Aina means 5 days in Tulu language. Every year Aina function is held from May 1st to May 5th. Some of the other important temples in Karopady village are Subraya devasthan in Vagenadu, Janardhana devasthan in Pombattaje.
