Karl Ranseier

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Karl Ranseier was a recurring character from the German TV show RTL Samstag Nacht (1993-1998). In each episode, there was a fake news report in which he was reported to have died. Each time a different history of his life was given.

The name Karl Ranseier has become a catchphrase in Germany that has led to its own joke category of Ranseiers which are in widespread usage outside of the comedy origin. Ranseiers make often use of puns.
