The Karawanken Tunnel (German: Karawankentunnel, Slovene: Predor Karavanke) is a motorway tunnel partly in Austria, partly in Slovenia, with total length of 7864 m (8019 m). It was built from 1986 and opened on June 1, 1991. It connects the motorways A11 in Austria and A2 in Slovenia.
