Karacabey is a town and district of Bursa Province in the Marmara region of Turkey.
Karacabey is an industrial area as well as agriculture, especially for the plantation of a special onion variety. There are so many famous food factories around Karacabey (e.g. Nestle). not only special onion, also a big variety of vegetables and fruits are planted in Karacabey. There is a lake near Karacabey (Uluabat lake). Marmara Sea is 32 km far away from Karacabey. The name of this town is the name of its founder. the man called Karacabey was a soldier in Ottoman Empire. there are two historical mosques in Karacabey one of them was built in 14th century. town was called Mihaliç before it was called Karacabey and there is a famous kind of cheese which is called Mihaliç.karacabey has biggest stud farm in big turkey republic.karacabey was grown champion horses.karacabey has also a lot of factory ex: sütaş,nestle,tat,tamek... So, karacabey is producing.karacabey is contrubuting to turkey's evolution. She is 60 km away from Bursa, who is center of the province and stands onto Bursa-Çanakkale way.
