WikiProject Philosophy task list

  • German Idealism and almost all the articles related to it need to be either rewritten or expanded, because a wikipedia user called Lestrade has, among other things, taken it upon himself to imbue each page with bias in favour of Schopenhauer, who he attempts to present as having the last say in everything. This is a terrible thing to do, because German Idealism is such an important period in philosophy, whose influence is still strongly felt today.
  • Protected Values first section confuses right action and values and needs a copy edit, moving and wikifying
  • Ludwig Wittgenstein is having its FA status reviewed due to a couple of concerns. Help save Ludwig! See Wikipedia:Featured article review/Ludwig Wittgenstein for requirements for retaining FA status.
  • Quality (philosophy) needs a more clear explanation.
  • Socratic dialogues could do with some tidying and clarification. See the talk page for one suggested change.
  • Problem of universals: The introductory definition is (perhaps) fixed. But, the article is poor. Check out the German version.
  • Teleology: the article is shallow and inconsistent.
  • Existentialism: the quality of this article varies wildly and is in desperate need of expert attention.
  • Star of Sophia Vote for or nominate someone you think is deserving!
  • Analytic_philosophy This is a very major topic, but still has several sections which are stubs, and several topics which are not covered.
  • Inverse (logic) This article makes me wish that there were a fail grade on the quality scale. Someone should rewrite it.

There are various ways for Internet users to contact me. First, try to talk to me. If that fails to get my attention, send an e-mail to bleslie2 at cox dot net, or damoclesone at gmail dot com (note the Romanized '@'s and '.'s). Although I frequently check my e-mail, I am a busy person, and will leave the Wikiworld for long periods of time. For example, I am teaching two human communication courses and continuing my graduate school work at CSU Fullerton in Spring 2007. If you cannot reach me, be patient, or search elsewhere for satisfaction.

My name is Brian Leslie. I received my B.A. in speech communication and philosophy from California State University, Fullerton on May 25, 2007. My undergraduate studies emphasized argumentation, persuasion, and analytic philosophy. I am a graduate student at CSU Fullerton pursuing an M.A. in speech communication.

I want my talk page to focus on improving Wikipedia. If you wish to chat with me about topics that exceed the scope of editing, feel free to e-mail me with questions regarding communication theory and research, statistical methods, rhetoric, sentential and predicate logic, ethical theory, metaphysics, epistemology, political philosophy, and any contemporary philosophical issues. Unfortunately, I am little help with Continental philosophy.

Editors who conform to Wikipedia's Manual of Style write better articles. Talk to me or e-mail me if you want me to edit a specific page.

I enjoy perusing and contributing to talk pages that attempt to build consensuses. Since the users who attempt to build genuine consensuses avoid destructive edit wars, these pages are honorable, deserve respect, and should grab your attention. If you find a talk page that appears short of a consensus, be bold and weigh in with your good faith opinion. You may even help move a discussion forward!
