[edit] Date question

When was the Chennai statue of Kannagi replaced? Was it 6 March 2006, or was it 3 June 2006? The article is unclear. --Cromwellt|talk 16:05, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kannaki as an Hindu legend

As far as I know Kannaki was a Buddhist and not an Hindu. Can someone justify the Hinduism tag to this entry? Thanks. Wiki San Roze talk 14:23, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure about the Kannaki being a Buddhist legend, but all interested parties should try to look up the Kodungalloor Temple in Kerala. There is a reported sarcophagus of Kannaki housed in one of the ante-chambers there. There is also an interesting connection between Kannaki and the "Bharani" pattu tradition of Kodungalloor.
