Kannambra is a small village in the Palakkad district of Kerala state, South India. It is famous for the Kannambra Vela (festival), celebrated each year on May 24. This is a miniature Thrissur Pooram and is celebrated by two rival groups represented by the villages of Kannambra and Rishinaradamangalam. Festivities include the noon panchavadyam at the Viswanatha Swamy temple inside the Kannambra Nair House, and the evening melam with caparisoned elephants from both sides, followed by a firework display. Another important thing was that it was naturally blessed place. The Goddess worshipped is Sree Kurumbabagavathy. This has been actually in a very high spirits when "Vela Venkitcha Iyer" was alive.
