[edit] Turtle Wave

The addition of "Turtle Wave" should be added to this disambig page for a translation to English. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.154.3.248 (talk • contribs)

Don't know what you're talking about. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 04:33, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Dragon Ball reference

I don't undestand these edits. Where in the MoS does it say only one link is needed? Let's achieve consensus here. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 23:44, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Is it your practice to revert edits you don't understand? mos:dab is very clear that we need only one link per entry. "Each bulleted entry should, in almost every case, have exactly one navigable (blue) link. To avoid confusing the reader, do not wikilink any other words in the line. For example: "Dark Star" (song), a song by the Grateful Dead not: "Dark Star" (song), a song by the psychedelic rock band The Grateful Dead" Abtract (talk) 00:00, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
You're misinterpreting the guideline. It pretty much says "one blue link per line". This is not the case here. Guess I'll have to ask for assistance. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:06, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Ask away, it is clear that there is only one meaning and you are trying to put several lines/links for it. Abtract (talk) 00:09, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
First off, why Son Goku and not the original Kamehameha user? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:12, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Pick whichever is most suitable ... but only one please. Abtract (talk)
Now there's something I'd like to understand: why only one if the others are just as appropiate? AFAIK, the guideline doesn't give a set preference. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:18, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
If you disagree with guidelines or think they need clarifying you should take this up on the mos:dab talk page. Abtract (talk) 00:21, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Talk about ignorance ... why you choose to avoid the subject ... staggers me. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:23, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

outdent It seems there are at least two ways out of this dilemma.

  1. introduce the term as a Wiktionary entry and revise links in the Dragon Ball entries to the new Wiktionary entry (that new entry should have some reliable source reference to the definition for the term)
  2. create an article that would serve as the target of the DAB entry such as
    • Kamehameha (Dragon Ball) that talks about the power (might be subject to deletion proposals based on notability deficit)
    • List of Kamehameha-capable Dragon Ball characters or Category:Kamehameha-capable Dragon Ball characters
    • Powers of Dragon Ball characters that presents an encyclopedic treatment of the topic, including kamehameha

I have an account on Wiktionary so I could create a page there (but not sure if it might meet their notability requirements). Regardless, which method do you find best? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 01:28, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
You might be right about the Wiktionary-notability guidelines. Which is the best approach? I think that one of the Wikipedia article creation options is best, but which one depends upon which can be supported with reliable sources, which is a topic that a Dragon Ball aficionado might be able to address, but I cannot at this time. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 01:36, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Think I'll go for the category then. Seems like the next best option. Any thoughts before I act? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 04:55, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
It is a valid way forward and would restrict to only extant articles rather than accumulating red-links. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 01:18, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Sorry I've come in late; I'm working my way through the Hawaii dabs on another user's suggestion. Categories are not dab targets, so I think the current solution needs more improvement. I would suggest:

  • Kamehameha, the signature move of the Dragon Ball character Son Goku

To answer one of the earlier questions, I'd pick Son Goku because it's more "his" move than any other DZ character's, according to signature move. "and others" could be tacked on the end of it if needed. Otherwise, yes, create the article to be dabbed (unless/until it is deleted for notability). Finally, IMO, it doesn't need to be italicized. -- JHunterJ (talk) 17:48, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
