[edit] Anab?

Could someone with a philiogical background comment on the word Anab? Reporting names like Apex or Aracher (AA-7 & AA-11) make more sense, but what does that word mean? A combination of A and the verb (to) nab?

Maybe one day espionage data will be declassified for research on how such names were chosen and by whom...

The only Anab I'm familiar with is the name of a town near Hebron in the Middle East. And here I had always misread the call name as Ahab. The Dark 17:58, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

I believe - and it's just a guess - that it may refer to the Judean town of Anab from which Joshua expelled the Anakim, a sort of fallen heavenly being. Askari Mark (Talk) 04:23, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
