Kalbhor is the surname of the people belonging to 96 Kuli Maratha caste of Hinduism. Their ancestors came from Rajasthan with the surname of "Chauhan".
In the 14th Century they settled in a village called Loni, present at the east of Pune,India.
The basic profession was farming. In the 15th century a farmer in Loni found a statue of the goddess, 'KaalBhairavi' which was assumed to be a blessing from the goddess and the people started using a new surname 'Kalbhor'.
Besides Loni Kalbhor's are local to places like Chinchwad, Pali.
Kalbhor or Kalbhore or Kalbhoot are basically from Rajsthan (India). After war between Rajpoot & Mugal they defeted & ran away from the state. They satteled various parts in india like M.P.,Maharastra & Rajsthan Itself to protect themselves.
In Ranjeet Desai's famous book on Shivaji Maharaj, the reference to Pandits from pali is mentioned, which gives us a proof of existence of Kalbhors in Pali in the 17th Century.
