This is a photo of the Kalmyk khurul at the Tsagan Aman settlement in the Astrakhan region. The wood-based, architectural design of this khurul was strongly influenced by rural Russian church architecture. This khurul was destroyed by the Bolsheviks and was only recently replaced several years ago. A picture of the new khurul can be found at http://www.buddhisminkalmykia.ru/?pa...c4655908ec0ec2
