[edit] Still needs work
This article still needs to be cleaned up. It's very difficult to understand the chronology of all of the pieces of Wong's life referenced. Jweiss11 08:24, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Has a day of birth but not a year. Can we find the year? RJFJR 15:05, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notable?
I question the notability of this article's subject: it all sounds good, but it references so many famous people who are not relevant to the article that it seems to require this for justification: the actual achievements in question amount to very little.
Googling the name shows up only wikipedia and sites which reference wiki's article, except for IMDB, for which it's possible to upload one's own resume (and the credits thereon are for roles such as "partygoer" - not even named parts): thousands of people assist in the making of a major film: to say someone assisted Ismail Merchant sounds impressive, but there is no credit of assistant producer to a Kai Wong in any film.
There are no citations in the article whatsoever, and some of the claims are outrageous, not to mention bad form for an encyclopedia: "He was consistently placed as gifted with "very superior intellect" in IQ scores, but his real genius is in, instead of remembering numbers and words, in remembering emotions. Like Proust's protagonist, he recalls memories of his uncle, that occurred when he was merely one year old, as though it was yesterday, by a mere olfactory trigger in the whiff of a perfume." (!!) ; "Wong's ancestry originates from the Huang clan of Jiangxia Prefecture (Chinese: 江夏 pinyin: jiangxia jyutping: gongha) in Hubei, direct descendants of the founding Emperor of China."
Initially I was intrigued by this fascinating person but, unable to find any substantive evidence to back up these claims online, I am convinced someone is either having a laugh, or is on a huge vanity trip. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Therealhighbrow (talk • contribs) 15:16, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
