| Description |
A composite image of the Kaiserbrücke (Emperor's Bridge) in Mainz, Germany. The top half shows the bridge as how it looked from when it was finished in 1904 to when it was destroyed by retreating German troops in 1904. The upper part shows the bridge seen looking north-north-eastwards in or around 1904. The lower part of the image shows the modern bridge (called the 'Northern Bridge') as it was rebuilt without the neo-roman castle gatehouses, seen from the other side (but the same bank of the river) looking east. |
