[edit] Romanisation

As per WP:MOS-JP, this article should be moved from Kagetsu Tohya to Kagetsu Tōya. I will do that shortly, unless there are some well-founded objections. mathrick 01:57, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Kagetsu Tohya is the official romanization. Take a look at these screenshots: http://www.crimsonmoon.frih.net/kagetsu_tohya/menu.htm Moogy (talk) 02:26, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
I'd still say it's doubtful. The title page might spell Kagetsu Tohya, but that's the extent of its officialness. It's not actually used by Type-MOON (because they simply write 歌月十夜), nor by any licensee (there ain't going to be any in the foreseeable future), so its impact is quite minimal. Google test also isn't conclusive: Tohya is more popular, but still has long way before it reaches even 1000 matches, and is outnumbered by variants of Tooya, Toya and Touya together. Therefore there hardly is an established presence of the title in English-speaking world, in whatever form.
Simply put: I trust WP:MOS-JP far more than some random Japanese artist including romanised title in the artwork for cool factor. Were it a licensee, they'd at least have the marketing machinery to back them up, a single screenshot doesn't. I consider Japanese themselves to be the least qualified when deciding about romanisation of Japanese, because they simply don't need it and don't care. I wouldn't be qualified to decide how my name is transcribed into Arabic, and for good reasons. For the same reasons I wouldn't consider a lone piece of artwork a guide for official romanisation, even if it is technically included in the product. mathrick 03:34, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm two days late, but your Google fails, Mr. mathrick. Tohya is much more widely used than Tōya, which allows for an exception to MOS-JP, if I recall correctly. It's also official, as Moogy pointed out. Voretustalk 21:14, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Title

Somebody just gave me a different translation for the title. "Ten Nights of the Singing Moon". If nobody is too fond of the current one ("Ten Nights of the Verses and Moon"), I'll go ahead and change it. Helios 23:29, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

I think you should go ahead and change it Helios. (By the way I'm shintis from Beast's Lair) -- Psi edit 02:10, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
