Kadetten

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kadetten, in German means cadets, is a youth organization in Switzerland. From the 19th (in some places the 18th) to mid 20th century, various local clubs, called "Kadettenkorps", use to prepare highschool students for military service in the Swiss militia. The modern youth organization has branched out into many things including sports (including the national league handball club, "Kadetten Schaffhausen"), trekking (Boy Scouts style branch), marching bands ("Kadettenmusik"), and traffic regulation ("Verkehrskadetten").

It is also the name of a movie starring Albert Basserman, Friedrich Kayssler, Johannes Riemann, and Trude von Molo. It was directed by Georg Jacoby.

The hero is a young cadet in a military school. Upon learning that his superior officer has tried to seduce his pretty young stepmother, Fiedler heads to the officer's home for a confrontation. Upon arriving, he discovers that the officer has been killed. Accused of the crime, Fiedler refuses to offer details to the police for fear of exposing his stepmother to scandal.
