[edit] Biography
Very little is known about The Kabuki Twins, besides that they are the silent henchwomen of the villain The Penguin in the television series The Batman. They do not appear in the Batman mainstream comics and were created for the TV series, but they do have an occasional appearance in the spinoff comic book series The Batman Strikes!.
Their first appearance was in "Call of the Cobblepot" (episode 3 of The Batman), in which they were, for the first half of the episode, mysterious Asian women who followed The Penguin everywhere he went. After Batman found one of them collecting stolen jewelry from a bird, though, it was made clear that they were no ordinary girls. The two of them used their expert fighting skills to beat up the Batman and almost run him over.
After they kidnapped Alfred Pennyworth when they caught him trespassing on the Penguin's manor, Batman came to save Alfred and locked the twins in a cage. They ended up catching the Penguin, but when they checked back on the Kabuki Twins, they had escaped. They have had several appearances since then. The two girls have never spoken. In the episode "Rumors",when they are captured and put in a glass container they look around confused. That means that there's a good chance they are human because robots would not be confused by things.
[edit] Costumes
The two twins have red costumes and have blades attached to their hands. It was never made clear whether the blades were part of their costumes or part of their bodies. They have white masks covering their faces to hide their identity. In their 'civilian' form, they have black-haired wigs and long green robes covering their blades and bodies, but still retain the masks.
[edit] Appearances in Other Media
- The two girls have made several appearances in the The Batman spinoff comic, The Batman Strikes!.
- In the online cartoon network game, Batman: The Cobblepot Caper, the girls have an important appearance in level 3 of the game. They take over Gotham Steelworks Factory, and after defeating their henchman and avoiding the booby traps set up throughout the factory, there is a one-on-two boss fight against the girls an a moving truck. In the end, Batman defeats the Kabuki Twins.
