The Kärntner Heimatdienst (KHD - Carinthian Homeland Service) is a far right and radical nationalist association in the Austrian state of Carinthia.
The KHD has a long tradition of aggressive anti-Slovene, anti-Slavic, anti-semitic, and anti-Communist policies and also served as a platform for the illegalized NSDAP during the First Austrian Republic. It was able to exert influence on the province's political parties during various "campaigns" such as those against bilingual German-Slovene traffic signposts in 1972, for the minority census in 1976, or for the abolition of bilingual primary education in 1988.
The KHD claims a membership of around 25,000, including some influential members of right-wing political parties, such as the Austrian Freedom Party and the Alliance for the Future of Austria.
The KHD is also a founding member of the Ulrichsberg Memorial Association (Verein für die Heimkehrergedenkstätte Ulrichsberg) which organises an annual memorial festival of Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS veterans, held at the Ulrichsberg in northern Upper-Austria right on the border with The Czech Republic that has become notorious for right-wing activism and propaganda.
