[edit] Primary production
Hi Justinleif. Thanks for sorting out that merge over at Primary production. It's been nagged at me for months, but never enough for me to actually do the right thing and sort it out. Good job. Cheers, --Plumbago 08:00, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Detritivore
Could you help clarify the difference between detritivores and decomposers? From the detritivore article:
- Detritivores (also known as saprophages, detrivores or detritus feeders) are organisms that recycle detritus (decomposing organic material), returning it into the food chain.
If they are defined as 'organisms' as opposed to say animals, I don't see where the difference is. Are detritivores strictly limited to the kingdom animalia? This is what my intuition suggests, but perhaps you could make this clear in the definition. Richard001 00:39, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Decomposer/Saprotroph merger proposal
Hi –
I'm opposed to the merger of the two articles, the reason's for which I've left over at Talk:Decomposer#Merge_with_saprotroph. I think you'll find my reasons sound, but I definitely value your perspective on the topic as an ecologist.
