Vernard is the fourth child of Charlie Frank Martin and Bradell Martin. He was born in 1968 in the town of Franklin, Georgia and grew up in the town of Hogansville, GA.

Vernard is commonly called by his nickname "Vee" (which is the letter "V" in the alphabet). He spent an inordinate amount of town as a student at the Georgia Institute of Technology where he became infamous for his vast amount of knowledge and technical skills. There has yet to be any evidence to actually prove that he has a vast amount of knowledge of any technical skills to date.
