Just Cause 2 is an action video game currently under development by Swedish developer Avalanche Studios and published by Eidos Interactive. It is the sequel to the 2006 video game Just Cause, which had a mixed reception. Just as its predecessor, it features action-packed sandbox gameplay.[1][2]
Just Cause 2 boasts two more years of software development with Avalanche 2.0. Looking similar to the breathtaking Crytek engine, it features more intelligent AI, amazing day/night cycles, and advanced texture detail. Also, the developers at Avalanche have included enhanced stunts, improved combat and wonderful explosions. The concept of side missions has been dropped, and the setting has been changed to an island location in SE Asia. Rico Rodriguez remains the main character.[2]
Just Cause 2, unlike its predecessor, will be launched on (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360) only, as well as Windows-based PCs.[2]
